Calcite
Veins of calcite occur in Paleozoic limestones in Holy Cross Mountains and near the city of Kraków (Paczółtowice and Czarna deposits). Calcite deposits, occurring in form of veins, were documented in Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship.
Calcite is used in ceramic industry. In the past, it was used in glass industry and as the fancy stone.
Anticipated economic resources, documented within 4 deposits, are estimated at 233 thousand tonnes. Only in Radomice I deposit calcite is occurring as the main raw material, in others calcite is co-occurring raw material with limestones as the main raw material. There was Korzecko deposit crossed out of “The balance…” in 2013.
